Staff in the Climate Archaeology and Analysis branch have created a new data set called the "Global Daily Climatology Network" or GDCN .  This data set is scheduled to be released next week.  I have created a web page on Nimitz that will be moved over to lwf next week.  This page has 'download' link that will take users to the WMO Res. 40 page and then if they 'accept' the terms I would like for them to be transferred to a directory with the data (very similar to GHCN).   Then they can simply select what they need and download the data.  These data are permanent and need to reside in an ftp area because they are large data files.  I will initially (first 6 to 12 months) be responsible for the area.
