The Project Name is "PRICIP", Pacific Region Integrated Climatology Information Products". PRICIP explores how the climate-related processes that govern extreme storm events are expressed within and between three thematic areas; heavy rains, strong winds, and high seas. NCDC is responsible for the heavy rains portion of the project. The entire PRICIP project is coordinated through NOAA's IDEA Center (Integrated Data and Environmental Applications Center). Files that will be stored in this directory will be primarily .gif and .jpgs (or .pngs) that display information on the ongoing analysis of heavy rain events in Hawaii (and eventually Alaska). Files may also be .txt files or .dat files containing the raw data from which said images are created.
